Nate graduated from law school almost a year ago, passed the bar and became a certified lawyer about six months ago, and now....he finally has a job! Well, he's had a job as a clerk since September, but effective May 1st, he will be the newest associate at Haralson, Miller, Pitt, Feldman, and McAnally. So now he will actually get to be a lawyer. This is the same firm he has been clerking for and he had to impress a lot of people there with a lot of hard work and some mad lawyering skills for them to hire him. I am so proud of him for this accomplishment. This is a pretty prestigious firm with a fairly small amount of lawyers (maybe like 16-20 or so)--they don't hire just anyone. Usually, they only hire their clerks (as new associates) after clerking for about a year. Nate has been working there for seven months. We got the impression they hired him now because they liked him and didn't want him to find a job elsewhere and leave. Nate is not going to like me bragging about him, so I will stop. But I really am proud of him.
We really do feel so blessed to have this opportunity. Even in a great job market (which is non-existant right now) this job would be everything we could have hoped for. He will be doing the kind of law he wants (well, not his very first choice, but pretty close) and, for the most part, will not have to work all the crazy hours you hear are required of most new associates. He doesn't even have a requirement for billable hours. This means that we will still get to see him. And, it also means that we don't have to move anywhere. We like it here, so we are greatful for that.

Congrats--that's wonderful! You deserve to brag a bit--it's always nice when your time and effort pay off.
Congratulations! Great news!
Hey, that is great - By the way, what area of law is he doing? (We need a trust at some point soon too :)
Yes, you have bragging rights. That is such a good feeling when ALL the hard work pays off. Congrats!
Yay! I'm so glad you don't have to move!
That's awesome! I'm really glad things are working out and I love reading updates on your family! =D
Hip Hip Hooray! I am happy for your husband, but really I am happy we still get to play vball during the week. I know jobs are required...but vball is essential!
Congrats. Hope we can say the same in 4 years.
Even though you told me on the phone and I already said this...CONGRATS...to Nate and the family!!!!
